University degree in Statistics or equivalent training that guarantees the capacity for large databases management and analysis. A postgraduate or specialization in biomedical research will be valued.

Experience in:

  1. organizing, harmonizing and managing data and in the quality control of databases,
  2. methods of multiple data imputation,
  3. statistical analysis for longitudinal epidemiological studies,
  4. analysis of data from complex sample designs and the use of sampling weights,
  5. factor analysis and psychometric analysis of PRO instruments.


  • Catalan, Spanish, English.
  • Advanced knowledge on statistical packages R, SAS, STATA, and M-PLUS.
  • Office IT and skills with software and specific platforms that allow the design of questionnaires for data collection (QUALTRICS, Teleform, QDS,...).
  • Good communication and organization skills.
Es valorarà:


Data quality control, data management, and harmonization of variables across different datasets.
Calculation of sampling weights and post-stratification weights, analysis of survey data from complex sampling design.
Psychometric analysis.
Application of multiple imputation technics.
Data analysis and preparation of results for dissemination.
Active support to project coordination.

Opportunities for own scientific qualification (PhD)/career development are provided, see for an overview and further links. The positions are to be filled at the earliest possible date and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the Emmy Noether programme.

  • an outstanding PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field with specialisation in Statistics, Data Science or Mathematics;
  • a strong background in at least one of the following fields: computational methods, Bayesian statistics, variational inference, statistical learning, high-dimensional regression modelling, mathematical statistics;
  • a thorough mathematical understanding.
  • substantial experience in scientific programming with R, Matlab, Python, C/C++ or similar;
  • strong interest in developing novel statistical methodology and its applications in various fields such as economics or natural and life sciences;
  • a very good communication skills and team experience, proficiency of the written and spoken English language (German is not obligatory).
Se valorará:

to contribute to the research on mathematical and statistical aspects of Bayesian statistical learning approaches and novel methods towards high-dimensional distributional models. The research positions are associated with the Emmy Noether group Regression Models beyond the Mean – A Bayesian Approach to Machine Learning and working group of Applied Statistics at the School of Business and Economics at Humboldt-Universität Berlin.
