Basic Statistics with R with RStudio – MODUL II
Presentation:
R is a free and open program (www.r-project.org) which is increasingly imposing as the widely used statistical package in the field of research and university education, although it is currently present in the trade area. Failure to provide a menu-based environment makes it has a slower learning curve, but once overcome makes it an excellent tool for statistical analysis, programming functions and graphical representation of results.
Description:
The Basic Statistics with R with RStudio – MODUL II is designed with a practical purpose to know the R environment and make proper use of statistical software. The syntax will be provided, so will be possible replicate and explore better. No Special mention will be made in technic details, since the main objective is to learn the basic instructions to perform the descriptive analysis and contrasting hypothesis of a database with R.
To take this course, students must use their own laptop.

- Estadística descriptiva univariada.
- Tablas de frecuencias para variables categóricas.
- Medidas de localización, dispersión y forma para variables cuantitativas.
- Representación gráfica.
- Breve introducción a los gráficos avanzados.
- Exportar gráficos.
Sesión 2:
- Estadística descriptiva bivariada.
- Inferencia estadística.
- Intervalos de confianza.
- Contrastes de hipótesis.
Sesión 3:
- Inferencia para dos muestras: Variables cualitativas
Tablas de contingencia
Test de independencia. - Inferencia para dos muestras: Variables cuantitativas
Correlación.
Comparación de medias/medianas.
Comparación de proporciones.
Sesión 4:
- Inferencia paramétrica para k muestras.
- Inferencia NO paramétrica para k muestras.

Audience:
The course is addressed to university students, teaching staff and professionals with basic Statistical knowledge who want to start in the R programming language for the treatment of databases.
Prerequisites:
Prior knowledge of programs for the treatment of databases and spreadsheets. Prior knowledge of R programming or realization of the Introduction to R syntax by RStudio course.
To take this course, students must use their own laptop.

Organization details:
The Basic Statistics with R with RStudio – MODUL II will be held on January 31st, February 2nd, 7th and 9th, 2023, from 10:00 to 13:00. The course will take place face-to-face in a classroom on the UAB Campus.
The course duration is 12 hours.
The minimum number of participants for the course is 10, and the maximum is 15.
